Bye, Bye, Baby.

Tonight I'm headed to New York for my big sister's bachelorette party. I haven't been to New York for a year and a half. As someone who's spent a lot of time not being responsible in New York City it'll be interesting to see it through my new maternal, married eyes.
I get back Sunday night and then leave Tuesday afternoon for a three-day training in Atlanta for my job.
Saying I'm going to miss Addy and Jason doesn't cover it--I'm wondering how I'm going to get by with all the missing that's gonna be going on. That's the thing about babies--even when you desperately want a break your heart starts to hurt ten minutes into the separation.
I'll be back soon.

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog. I am a new mom from Vancouver, Canada who came across your blog when I was about 6 months pregnant on Momversation and I have been hooked ever since. I feel like you can read my mind as I fumble through motherhood and it's great to know that things just keep getting better. My little Mahalia is 2 months old now and I already notice small changes that are helping me to enjoy this more and more each day. Have a great time in NYC and keep up the great writing!

SO so true, Sarah! Even after 9-and-a-half years, I feel like I'm going to go crazy for a break, and then I can't wait to see her again. It's even worse with my five-year-old, BUT...it doesn't compare how strong the ache was when they were babies. I'm hoping it'll keep getting a little easier and I'll be ready when they go to college...
