One really good thing about being at a conference in Atlanta is that I've gotten to see my old friends Justin and Mary Rose, who both worked with me at Sidelines. Sometimes I look around at the friends I've accumulated throughout my life and I sort of can't take the talent and creativity between all of them. I mean, my husband plays the guitar--nightly, hourly--better than anyone I've ever heard in person, and then my best friend's a writer, too, other best friends are fashion designers and writers and thinkers and creators and I'm not talking about relationships amassed around the world. I'm talking about my friends from Murfreesboro.

Right before the wedding Justin and Mary Rose stopped by and, of course, Justin--who shot my wedding--pulled out his camera and started shooting Addy. (How could you not? She's the best inspiration ever.)

By the way--I just sat here and stared at these photos for at least twenty minutes. In silence, in my hotel rooms, in my pajamas, with my roommate--a girl I just met two days ago who's also attending the conference--snoring next to me, in my pajamas, face-washed and tucked in, desperately needing to fall asleep if I want to get six hours tonight. But I can't stop staring. I miss her too much.
